Language Pathway - “Rosetta Stone” Platforme

Language Proficiency Programme on the Rosetta Stone Catalyst platform

The Department of Political Science is pleased to promote a Language Proficiency Programme via the Rosetta Stone Catalyst platform. Participation is optional and open to all students enrolled in the Department’s degree programmes.

The language programme features an online training course on the Catalyst platform. In accordance with Article 10 of the Academic Regulations, students who successfully complete the pathway are eligible for a 2-point bonus to be added to their final graduation grade.

    Application and Requirements

Students are invited to submit their applications by 30 November of each year to the Academic Administration Office at: Questo indirizzo email è protetto dagli spambots. È necessario abilitare JavaScript per vederlo..

To qualify for the bonus, students must complete at least 60 hours of training on the Catalyst platform, following the specific guidelines provided by the Supervising Professor for their chosen language.

    Language Selection

Students can choose one language from English, French, Spanish, or Arabic.

Note: we kindly remind you that the chosen language must be different from those already included in your mandatory curriculum.

The Supervising Professors for each language are:

    • Arabic: Paola Viviani
    • French: Carmen Saggiomo
    • English: Marta Cariello; Prof. Ljubica Leone
    • Spanish: Elvira Falivene.

Final Assessment and Awarding of Points

The programme concludes with a written examination held in April of the year following the application.
Students are kindly requested to register for the exam by contacting their Supervising Professor by the end of March. To complete the process, students are expected to provide evidence of their platform activity by presenting the ProLingua / Rosetta Stone Certificate of Participation. This certificate is awarded to those who complete the minimum required hours through a consistent learning path; it details the total hours logged and the proficiency levels achieved.

Once the exam is passed, the results will be forwarded to the Academic Administration Office. The relevant documentation will then be submitted to the Graduation Board for the official awarding of the bonus points.

    Program Coordinator: Prof. Paola Viviani.
