Contents | In order to be able to approach simple texts concerning aspects of daily life and socio-political, and cultural issues, beginners are expected to acquire the basic notions of Arabic language. |

Course objectives | Knowledge and understanding. Students shall demonstrate knowledge and understanding founded on the study of the language-based and culture-based notions and topics included in the syllabus. Beginners are required to achieve competence in at least A1/A2 levels within the CEFR, whilst non-beginners are supposed to achieve competence in the B1/B2 levels within the CEFR. |
Prerequisites | The course is for beginners and non-beginners. Non-beginners are required the achievement of A1/A2 levels within the CEFR, which will be tested during an interview. |
Teaching methods | Teaching activities will be structured as follows: 48 hours of frontal teaching method; at least 16 teaching hours will be devoted to in-classroom exercise focusing on, e.g., the reading and analysis of texts of various types. |
Evaluation methods | The exam consists in an oral assessment. |
Other information | Further teaching activities include lessons held by a professional mother-tongue “C.E.L.” (linguistic expert). |
